Landscape Grading & Mounding Services in Arizona

An uneven yard is hard to plant, hard to water, and hard to look at. Core Landscape grades, levels, and shapes property across Gilbert, Chandler, Mesa, Scottsdale, and Queen Creek, whether that means flattening a lot for a new build or adding berms and mounds to give a flat yard some shape.

Landscape Grading and Leveling

Grading takes the divots, dips, and high spots out of your yard. That matters for how the yard looks, but it matters more for what comes next. A level yard is easier to plant, easier to build on, and it lets your irrigation put water where you want it instead of pooling it in the low corner.
We bring the equipment out to break ground, but the measurements come first. No two lots drain the same way, so we work out the grade your property needs before a tractor moves. Getting that wrong once costs more than getting it right the first time.

Berms and Mounds

Berms and mounds do two jobs at once. They give a flat lot some vertical interest, and they create planting beds that drain better than the surrounding grade.
The two are not the same thing:

  • Mounds are island shaped, lower and wider, and built to be planted on top.
  • Berms are linear, running across the yard and rising and falling at different heights.

Either one adds shape. Which one you want depends on how much room you have and what you are trying to screen, frame, or break up.

Drainage Comes First

Before we build anything up, we look at what happens to the water. Adding a berm changes where runoff goes, and a mound that holds water is a dead planting bed. We evaluate the space you have and confirm your drainage can handle the change, and our irrigation crew works alongside the landscape crew so the emitters and the grade get planned together rather than one being retrofitted around the other.

Where Grading Fits in a Larger Project

Grading is usually the first step, not a standalone job. If you are looking at a full yard renovation or new installation, the grade gets set before anything else goes in. Our landscape build team handles both in one sequence.
